Holloway Group is proud to showcase how Rawspec products are supporting a true circular economy outcome for local councils and their communities.

For the first time in Australia, post-consumer soft plastics collected and processed by iQRenew through local yellow kerbside recycling bins are being transformed into long-life infrastructure products. Household items such as bread bags, wrappers, and shopping bags are recovered by iQRenew, processed at its SPEC facility on the NSW Mid North Coast, and verified under the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). These certified materials are then blended with recycled polypropylene and manufactured by Holloway Group into the Rawspec product range — including Geohex ground stabilisation grids.

Geohex is a versatile system widely used across Australia in applications such as:

  • Car parks and access roads
  • Embankments and slope stabilisation
  • Pathways and cycleways
  • Drainage and water management systems
  • Erosion control projects

By integrating Rawspec, every Geohex installation can now form part of a closed loop for councils:

  1. Residents recycle soft plastics through their yellow kerbside bins.
  2. iQRenew collects and processes that waste into certified recycled material.
  3. Holloway Group manufactures Geohex using a blend of this material and recycled polypropylene.
  4. Councils purchase Geohex to deliver new community infrastructure.

This circular model means councils are no longer just collecting waste — they are actively turning it into tangible, functional products that can be installed back into their own communities. Residents can see the results of their recycling efforts, ratepayers benefit from long-lasting infrastructure, and councils can meet circular economy strategies, ESG frameworks, and waste diversion targets with measurable, visible outcomes.

Choosing Geohex made with Rawspec also supports local procurement objectives, with Australian-designed and Australian-made products delivering jobs, innovation, and environmental benefits within regional communities. Geohex made with Rawspec is a win for councils, a win for residents, and a win for the environment.

Together with iQRenew, Holloway Group is proud to help local governments close the loop — transforming kerbside soft plastics into lasting infrastructure solutions. From the yellow bin to car parks, pathways, and public spaces — that’s circularity in action.
